The Yonkers Railsplitters announced today the launch of an NYCMBL - A Division farm team that will begin operations in 2017.The farm team, not yet officially named, would operate under the management of the Yonkers Rail Splitters and Rail Splitter Baseball Properties Inc.
With an emphasis on player development and community, the Yonkers farm team will provide a consistent and competitive professional environment for promising players to develop under the tutelage of veteran players, as well as extend club access to supporters and increase opportunities to be involved with the community.
The parent club has also announced the appointment of Chad Tall as on field Manager. Tall has a decade of sports experience, with a targeted focus in baseball and cricket. The new club will base its operations out of the Railsplitters parent offices and play regular-season games at Governors Field. They are expected to open the season on April 1st.
