League Wide Rainouts Rescheduled

The weather has not been good to the Yonkers Railsplitters and the New York City Metro Baseball League (NYCMBL). This season over 60 games have had to be cancelled or rescheduled across the league and only a hand full of games have been played since May 12th. Governors Field the home of the Yonkers Railsplitters, which is well known for not canceling games has had at least 8 rainouts to date. “Mother nature has been tough on the whole league through April and May. Where we could we’ve managed to squeeze single games in on a rainy day but we have never had to cancel or reschedule this many games” said splitters General Manager Jonathan Zeron. The Railsplitters have rescheduled 6 of 8 rainouts leaving them with no more remaining bye weeks or off days for the remainder of the season.

The Splitters will play a single game (rescheduled from April 29) against the Bronx Orioles on June 16. Followed by a two game series (rescheduled from a May 20 double header) against the Nassau Yankees on June 30 and July 1. Then play a three game set (rescheduled from May 12 and 2 games from May 27) against the New York Express with a straight doubleheader on June 14 and a single game on June 15.

The regular season will continue after the NABA Atlantic City Memorial Day Tournament with the Splitters taking on Too Hot on June 2 at 3:00PM at Governors Field.
