CITY OF YONKERS
PROCLAMATION
WHEREAS: As Mayor of the City of Yonkers, I am proud to join with the members of the YONKERS RAILSPLITTERS in celebrating their back-to-back championships, and
WHEREAS: The YONKERS RAILSPLITTERS are a part of the New York City Metro Baseball League, an amateur collective a former college baseball players and weekend warriors and consists of two leagues, Single A and Double AA and
WHEREAS: The YONKERS RAILSPLITTERS have the distinction of winning three championship series, two back-to-back Single A Championships and a Fall Ball Championship, all under the umbrella of the New York City Metro League, and
WHEREAS: Establish in 2014, the YONKERS RAILSPLITTERS are at the forefront of fostering a passion for baseball and through their five seasons have risen to the top of their league, and
WHEREAS: Manager and Team President Jonathan Zeron is to be commended for his organization skills, both on and off the field, and
WHEREAS: Fiercely proud of playing for the City of Yonkers, the YONKERS RAILSPLITTERS recently redesigned their team logos and their team secondary logo, features a speeding locomotive and Yonkers Water Tower, and
WHEREAS: The City of Yonkers raises its voice in tribute to the YONKERS RAILSPLITTERS on winning back to back championships and bringing pride to our city and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE I, MIKE SPANO, Mayor of the City of Yonkers, to hereby proclaim this day, 30th September 2019 to be:

On Winning Back to Back Single-A Championships
New York City Metro Baseball League
in the city of Yonkers, and call upon our residents to join with me in extending our sincerest gratitude to the coaches, managers, team players and thier families on this occasion and wish them continued success in all their future endeavors.
